Devs Fatshark are offering their co-op fantasy action game Warhammer: Vermintide 2 free to keep if you grab it on Steam before November 7th. The freebie is a part of a seven-year anniversary celebration called « 7 Years Of Tide » that began with the publication of the first Vermintide and ends on November 30 with the release of Fatshark’s Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Additionally, on November 8th, Vermintide 2 will receive a free upgrade called Trail Of Treachery. The trailer for that is available below.
Tuesday marks the release of Trail Of Treachery, the first mission in a two-parter, for free in Vermintide 2. In order to get to the plague-stricken community of Tockstadt, which isn’t having a great time with the supernatural happenings right now, your group needs to escort a caravan filled with goodies across snow and ice. Oh, and there are also avalanches to worry about. Part two is slated to air in 2023. More information regarding Trail Of Treachery’s expectations can be found here.
Vermintide and Darktide are also related to tides, you see. Because of this, Fatshark counts Darktide, another first-person squad co-op game, as the third installment in the Vermintide series, even though it is based on the science fiction Warhammer 40K universe. If someone pre-orders Darktide, they will receive early access to the game starting on November 17th. Additionally, Darktide gamers will receive the Devoted Rejects collection of DLC skins for both Vermintide games. The whole schedule of events for Vermintide and Darktide this month is available here.
Up to November 7th, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 may be downloaded for free via Steam.
