It is an understatement to say that Starfield is one of the most anticipated games of this year 2023. While fans were eagerly awaiting a release date, it has been officially announced! Unfortunately, it did not really convince since it did not respect a promise that was made by Bethesda!
Starfield postponed again
Originally, Starfield was supposed to be released several months ago and compete with God of War and Elden Ring for the title of Game of the Year 2022. Indeed, it is on November 11th that we should have been able to test it and this date had not been chosen at random. It’s the same as one of the greatest games in Bethesda’s history, Skyrim.
The latter was indeed released exactly 11 years before, on November 11, 2011. Moreover, if the same date had been chosen, it is because Todd Howard’s side had nicknamed this game, the Skyrim of space. Unfortunately if in terms of communication, it was well found, the deadlines were too short. Therefore, a first postponement had taken place.
No specific date was announced at the time. All that was known was that Starfield was to be released in the first half of 2023. But with the date approaching, fans began to have doubts. Unfortunately, these doubts were confirmed by a tweet from the official account. The latter unveiled last night a trailer and a new release date, September 6.

A game highly anticipated by fans
You might as well say that fans were disappointed by this announcement, they thought they could finally get their hands on Starfield. It must be said that the latter is highly anticipated. Since its announcement, Todd Howard, the boss of Bethesda multiplies the speeches to raise the expectation around the game. In particular, he described it as the Skyrim of space.
He then said that the game would have its own mechanics and would be more than a version of Skyrim with ships. But the idea behind this comparison is that, according to him, Starfield could have the same impact as Skyrim had when it was released, no less! So, will it be the case? For the moment, it is difficult to say, especially since this year the competition is tough with Hogwarts Legacy for example.
