When we talk about horror game franchises, it’s hard not to mention Resident Evil. Indeed, the latter is still very popular today, although many fans agree that the most memorable games were the first ones. It’s a good thing because Resident Evil 4 Remake is scheduled for release in a few weeks. But we recently had the right to a surprise, the officialization of a DLC with a VR version!
Free VR DLC for Resident Evil 4 Remake!
Right now, VR headsets are back in vogue. Indeed, if at the beginning of the 2010s we were on the upward slope for this technology, things had slowed down a bit since. But as you’ve seen recently with the announcements around Apple’s VR headset for example, the technology seems to be moving forward again.
Moreover, in video games, PlayStation has just released its PSVR 2, a new version of its virtual reality headset. As you can imagine, the arrival of a headset on Sony’s console has given a big boost. Thus, we had the right to a lot of announcements about VR games that were going to land soon. But then, what does this have to do with Resident Evil 4 Remake?
Well, a few hours ago, it was Capcom via its official Japanese Twitter account of Resident Evil 4 Remake that just announced that a VR version was planned for the game. A news that delighted the fans, even if translating this tweet, we realize that this VR mod should not be available at the launch of the game.
What is the release date?
Indeed, the release of this remake is approaching fast and it’s in one month almost to the day, on March 24th that we will be able to discover it. Except in the tweet, it says that the VR version of Resident Evil 4 Remake is in development. Therefore, the deadline for the release of the game is far too short. Moreover, no date has been announced for the release of what will be a DLC .
However, even if we didn’t get a date, we still got some good news! Indeed, we learned for example that this DLC will be free! Therefore, if you own a virtual reality headset and the game, you won’t have to spend one more euro! Therefore, it may be worth waiting a little longer and doing the whole adventure of Resident Evil 4 Remake in VR!
