The PS5 is approaching its third birthday in November. Despite challenges such as component shortages and a pandemic, sales were impressive. Over 40 million units have been sold worldwide.
This performance places PlayStation‘s latest console among the top 20 best-sellers of all time. To build on this momentum during the 2023 holiday season, PlayStation has introduced the « Updgrader » program.
This program allows new PS5 owners to choose a free game. The list is rich in content, mainly PS5 exclusives. Key titles include « The Last Of Us Part 1 », « God Of War Ragnarok » and Insomniac’s two Spider-Man games.
The program ends on October 20, 2023. This is also the release date for « Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ».
A total of 12 games are on offer. This represents almost all PlayStation exclusives for the PS5, with the bonus of the Director’s Cut version of « Death Stranding ». However, the start of the program and eligibility criteria remain unclear.
The support page specifies that only new PS5 owners can benefit from the offer. But no start date is given. If you’ve recently activated a PS5, you might want to take a look at this page.
To check your eligibility, visit the PS Store. A banner with details of the offer should appear. After verification, you can choose from a list of 12 games and download one free of charge.
However, there are restrictions. Only PS5 owners in the United States with an active PSN account and aged 18 or over can take part.
It is hoped that PlayStation will highlight this program in the near future. Otherwise, it would be surprising for the brand. If this offer has convinced you to buy a PS5, pre-order details for its « Deep Earth » collection are now available.
