For a few years now, Bethesda has become one of the most important players in the video game world. In fact, several big issues are on the table right now on their side. Between Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6 and Indiana Jones, there are things planned! So Todd Howard gave an update on each of these games in an interview.
Starfield, a favorite project
A few days ago, it was revealed that Starfield would not be a simple Elder Scrolls Skyrim from space. Well, in this interview, that was confirmed by Todd Howard. The latter indicated that the desire to play games in space is not new. So when he saw the opportunity in 2016, he just went for it!
Since then, he has been working to make Starfield a huge blockbuster. The development was not easy given the immensity of the task. With games like the Elder Scrolls or Fallout, players only explore one world. Here, the idea is to be able to explore hundreds of them and that is a big challenge. So the idea was to use tools that allow you to create worlds procedurally, without it being too obvious.

Elder Scrolls 6, an obligation of result
If Bethesda is known for its licenses for several years, one seems to stand out. This license is of course the Elder Scrolls license which was already very popular before Skyrim. But the release of the latter has taken science into another dimension. So, for this sixth opus, Todd Howard knows that there is no room for error!
That’s why the project is taking its time, to avoid disappointing the fans. In fact, Todd Howard announced that Skyrim modders have joined the ranks of Bethesda. The idea is to bring fresh blood and new ideas for this Elder Scrolls 6. However, the only element that seems to be finished at the moment is the soundtrack.

Indiana Jones, a childhood dream
Finally, the last game Bethesda is currently working on is Indiana Jones and this game is special for Todd Howard. Indeed, as a child he was a great fan of the hero’s adventures in film. So when the opportunity to adapt them into a game arose, he didn’t hesitate for a second. Moreover, this is not the first time that such an adaptation is under discussion. In 2009, Bethesda had contacts with LucasArt, but the project fell through.
As for the difficulties encountered by the team, it’s that unlike an Elder Scrolls game for example, here it’s not the universe that’s important. It is indeed the main character who is at the heart of the game. However, Machine Games, with whom Bethesda is collaborating on this project, is doing an incredible job according to Todd Howard. He called the game « a love letter to Indiana Jones ».
