The CEO of CD Projekt, a video game publisher renowned for flagship titles such as The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, recently refuted rumors that Sony might be on the verge of acquiring the company.
These rumors began to spread the previous weekend, when an individual known for leaking information about the Destiny game claimed to be aware of Sony’s plans to acquire CD Projekt and integrate it into Sony Interactive Entertainment.
However, in a conference call following the release of CD Projekt’s first-quarter 2023 results, these rumors were dismissed. In response to a question about the veracity of this information, Adam Kiciński, President and CEO of CD Projekt, confirmed that no changes had taken place on their side.

Kiciński insisted that CD Projekt is not for sale and expressed the company’s desire to preserve its independence. In his opinion, CD Projekt has an excellent strategy, albeit a difficult one to implement. The company is enthusiastic about going its own way, which underlines the fact that acquisition rumors are unfounded.
