Blizzard is offering Diablo 4 players an unusual opportunity. The company has launched a challenge, called ‘Diablo 4 Hardcore Victories’, where players are encouraged to take on the game in Hardcore mode.

Known for its ruthless nature, this mode permanently deletes a player’s character when they die, forcing them to start again from level 1.

The stakes are high, but the rewards are attractive: the first 1000 players to reach level 100 in this mode will have the honor of having their name inscribed on a statue of the game’s villain, Lilith.

Think you can cheat death?

Reach level 100 on hardcore mode and tweet #Diablo4Hardcore with proof to have your username immortalized on a statue of Lilith.

Offer limited to first 1000, restrictions apply: https://t.co/TLWxZwG0aQ

Get started June 1st. pic.twitter.com/pvVLZNPgx8

To be eligible for this, players must provide proof of their achievement. The conditions stipulate that they must tweet to the address @Diablo, use the hashtag #Diablo4Hardcore, and share a photo or video showing that they have reached level 100 and earned the title of Hardcore Champion in the game.

However, Blizzard has clarified that the statue may not bear 1,000 names after all. The challenge concludes when 1000 players have managed to prove their feat, or on September 1, whichever comes first. If fewer than 1000 players complete the challenge by this date, the number of names on the statue will reflect this.

The design, size and location of the statue remain unknown. Diablo 4 is due for release on June 6 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4, with cross-play and cross-progression supported on all platforms. Players who purchase the Deluxe and Ultimate editions will have early access from June 1.
