As we know, Epic Games had a wild success with the release of Fortnite a few years ago. Based on this success, they then sought to continue on this theme. Thus, a few months ago Rumbleverse was released. However, the game was not as successful as expected and according to some rumors, it could simply be closed in a few days!

Rumbleverse, a failed release for the Battle Royale

As we just said, for Epic Games, Fortnite has been a goldmine. Microtransactions have allowed the game to make millions even though it was free. And then, Fortnite, it has become more than a video game today. It is a true phenomenon and already has an iconic place in pop culture.

So, of course, the publisher wanted to try again. And so, six months ago, the Rumbleverse was born. The principle of this new Battle Royale is simple. You play as wrestlers and you must fight to eliminate your opponents and be the last one alive to win the game. On paper, it’s a very fun game.

Plus, since Epic Games is behind it, there’s a lot of muscle behind it. You see the game everywhere, but that doesn’t mean the game will work. Indeed, we had a recent example with DC Comics which seems to be breaking its teeth with its game on the Suicide Squad. For Rumbleverse, the observation is unfortunately quite similar!

An early end to the game?

Indeed, despite the fact that the game was very well advertised at its release, we had the impression that it never found its audience. Thus, the number of players dropped rapidly. In fact, this number would be so low that Epic Games is already thinking about closing the Rumbleverse servers even though it was released only six months ago!

At least that’s what journalist Tom Henderson says on Twitter. According to him, the decision has already been made and should be effective by the end of February. He goes even further by stating that the official announcement should fall soon and that the game will then be removed from the various platforms where it is currently available. So we’ll have to keep an eye on the game’s social networks to see if this is indeed the case!
