If MMORPGs had their glory days in the early 2000s, we can say that things have slowed down a lot since then! Indeed, if RPGs are still popular as we can see at the moment with the huge expectation around The Elder Scrolls 6, the MMO versions are not so popular anymore. But Pax Dei intends to reverse this with an ambitious project!
Pax Dei, a mix between Minecraft and an MMORPG?
Put like that, the mix may seem to be quite complicated to grasp. However, this is the promise made to us by Pax Dei. Indeed, we should find in the game classic MMORPG mechanics such as classes, PVP battles or PVE with World Bosses. Classic in fact.
Except that everything else is far from this famous classic! Indeed, if you have played at least one MMORPG in your life, you know the overall structure of the worlds of these games. There are regions with a large city that concentrates the majority of activities. Well, this should not be the case with Pax Dei which will let players create the cities!
This is where the Minecraft dimension will come into play. Indeed, you will simply be able to take possession of an empty piece of land, either alone or with your friends, or even your clan. You will then farm resources and build the different buildings. So, in theory, great cities can be built from scratch in Pax Dei by the players!
A game accessible by everyone, everywhere!
Already, in view of these first announcements, we have something to be conquered, but that’s not all! In fact, in addition to this, the game will rely on Cloud Gaming technology. The latter is slowly becoming more democratic, especially since Game Pass decided to use it. But here we are promised a game that will not require any installation!
All you have to do is go to the Pax Dei website, log in and you can play from your PC, tablet or laptop! As you can see, Pax Dei has the weapons in hand to revolutionize the world of MMORPGs. We’ll have to wait and see what these promises will look like once the game is released. Moreover, for the moment, no date has been announced.
