The Turtle Beach Recon Cloud is a new hybrid controller designed for mobile and cloud gaming. It is compatible with Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One, Windows 10/11 and Android and can be connected wirelessly or with a cable.

Visually, the Turtle Beach Recon Cloud is reminiscent of the Recon controller of the manufacturer. There are also some technical (and naming) similarities.
The biggest difference is that the Recon Cloud can also be used wirelessly and is compatible with PCs and Android devices (version 8.0 or higher) in addition to Xbox consoles. It connects via Bluetooth, but can also be used with the three meter cable. It also has a 3.5 mm jack input for connecting to headphones.
The battery is supposed to last up to 30 hours in wireless mode. The controller can be fully recharged in just 2.5 hours. For use with smartphones, the controller has an adjustable smartphone clip that is meant to fit even the largest smartphones on the market.
Features of the Recon Cloud Controller
In terms of design, the Turtle Beach Recon Cloud follows the classic layout of Xbox gamepads. This is complemented by an ergonomic, cooling, ribbed grip with micro-cooling, as well as a Pro-Aim focus mode.
Pro-Aim allows you to use one of the two customizable buttons to adjust the sensitivity of the analog stick for better accuracy at long distances. Two customizable quick action buttons are also offered, which can store up to four profiles.
On top, there is the familiar audio panel of the Recon controller. It allows for easy control of audio, including EQ presets, game and chat mixers, microphone control and more. However, it can only be used in wired mode.
Thanks to Turtle Beach’s “Superhuman Hearing” technology, sound effects such as quiet footsteps or the reloading of weapons should be more acoustically enhanced. Two powerful vibration motors in the handles and triggers are also offered.
A one-month trial subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes cloud gaming on Android devices, is already included.

The Turtle Beach Recon Cloud Controller is available in stores now. It comes in a classic black color scheme, as well as a chic “Blue Magma” design that focuses on a blue color with orange details. Both variants have a price of 99.99 euros. More details can be found on the manufacturer’s website.
